The 5-HTP+ Patch was first launched in the UK in early 2014, following several years of development and testing, to bring to market a much-awaited 5-HTP transdermal patch that solves the common problems associated with taking 5-HTP in tablet form. Following extensive customer feedback and advances in transdermal patch technology, an improved version of the 5-HTP+ Patch was subsequently developed and launched at the end of 2016.
Transdermal patches have become more widely accepted in recent years, in particular as a result of the popularity of nicotine and contraceptive patches. The 5-HTP+ Patch allows people to take 5-HTP without swallowing tablets and is released directly in to the bloodstream, meaning that a fraction of the dosage of 5-HTP is required and the amount of 5-HTP in the body remains relatively constant over a longer period of time, when compared to tablets.*
